Thousands have lost everything from Louisiana’s historic floods. Many thousands more suffer from a deluge of daily trauma: veterans returning from war, Alzheimer’s victims wasting away….
In Virginia Beach, funds to meet those multiple needs will be raised through a single relief effort: “An October Night to Remember…Music & Mercy Benefit Concert” Combining song-and-dance with helping hands, it’s a benefit concert on October 1st from 7:00 pm at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.
Tuneful numbers will be led by the Band of Brothers, youthful oldies-but-goldies performers from the Philippines; Alyssa Jade Shoemaker, reigning Grand Pilipinas Fiesta Pageant 2016 Queen; and pop performer Vickie Jade.
Your support will make a world of difference for communities and individuals hit by one-in-a-hundred-year disasters as well as daily calamities. Net proceeds will be shared equally to benefit the Montero Medical Missions (www.monteromedicalmissions.org), Operation Blessing (www.ob.org), and the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter (www.alz.org/seva).

It shouldn’t take catastrophes to bring out the best in us. But when they strike once in a generation or once a day around us, it’s good to know we can rise up to meet the challenge. Thank you for your support.
