Melody is a product of intersecting Filipino and American Culture, education, military life, and creative arts. She started in leadership at the tender age of 6 years old, moved into non-profit work at the age for 14, became a mental health counselor at the age of 24, and has used her clinical, administrative, and creative background to impact the community in which she lives and works. Among her talents, Melody has organized fundraisers for campaigns locally and abroad, consulted with businesses and organizations on project development, organized volunteers to advocate for charities and causes, trained and supervised students of all disciplines, provided leadership consultation and workshops, writes throughout the continuum of poetry and blogs to academic social science research, and much more. Melody is currently developing a business to sustain her multiple talents and creativity infusing it with her desire to impact the community around her.
Melody is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision at Old Dominion University. Her passion is in developing and inspiring people to be the best versions of themselves. Melody believes that there is beauty to be found in everyone and everything.
