GIVING BACK WITH IMPACT!
Y.E.S. is a non profit organization that develops future leaders through its mentor-mentee system by inspiring youth to overcome adversity and economic disparity through entrepreneurship. This wonderful program teaches young men to support community morale through beautification and preservation, while providing a safe and positive work-learn environment for mentees and promoting financial freedom and entrepreneurship.
"Community building through the building of its future leaders.”
Economic inequality, discrimination, poverty, and crime are just a few of the issues plaguing our communities. Often, our youth are directly affected by these perils.
The Young Entrepreneur Salute Summer Program was created for this very purpose; to provide light at the end of a seemingly very long tunnel.
On July 6th, 2015 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, the six week Y.E.S. Summer Program served 50 young males of the Brooklyn community between the ages of 14-24, versing them in entrepreneurship, leadership, and community building.
In partnership with New York State Summer Youth Employment Program, The Y.E.S. Program will offer a 6 week tailored curriculum focused on Entrepreneurship including:
- The Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneurs
- Research and Development of Business Concepts
- Business Plan Writing
- Entrepreneur Case Studies
- Elevator Pitching
- Business Etiquette
- Micro and Macro Economics
- Real Estate and Investments
Other key topics covered include:
- Purpose For Passion
- Community and Police Relations
- Team Building
- Community Beautification
- Prominent Guest Presentations
Mentees will receive evaluations at the midway and completion of the six-week program, highlighting their achievements and areas of improvement so that mentees are guided to reach their full potential as leaders and entrepreneurs in their communities.
Under the guidance of Y.E.S. Mentors, mentees will conceptualize, plan, and execute a community celebration day taking place in week six of the program where our collective efforts will allow Y.E.S. to donate school supplies and branded backpacks to youth in the Brooklyn community. Mentees will have the opportunity to display the skills they’ve learned throughout the program through their direct involvement in producing a large-scale event.
Mentees of the Y.E.S. Program who demonstrate a high level of comprehension and leadership will be hand selected to receive the continued support of the Y.E.S. Network to bring their business concepts to fruition.

As the year ends and we prepare for the upcoming year, think about all the projects you wish you started, the people you wish you talked with, and the risks you wish you took. It’s easy to be paralyzed with fear of the unknown or not having enough money or support. But, if you have a passion or a dream, start planting the seeds now.
