This holiday season The Professionals Under 40 Network had the opportunity to partner with local non-profit organization Blankets for The Homeless, and we gave back with impact! Together we were able to raise more than five hundred dollars and countless amounts of clothing, blankets, and gear to help share the warmth with Hampton Roads' homeless community. We would like to thank all of the P40 members, musical guest, Shaka's Live, Age Advantage of Virginia Beach, Express Transportation Services, and The Opus Group of Virginia for helping us make this a night to remember! Musical guests included Tala, Bryan Mahon, Marty C. Moore, Emmanuel Melendez, Kevin WOLFE, OKSTEVE, Scott Collin, Eryca Jasmine, and Apostle Zeda. Check out the event photos below!
Founder of Blankets for the Homless, Mariah Smith started this organization in 2011 while attending Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach. Mariah's personal testimony and life experiences have propelled her to become a change maker within her community. Her perseverance and commitment to the homeless community is astonishing and inspirational to say the least. In just five short years Mariah has already distributed over 100,000 blankets, hats, coats, gloves, backpacks, tents, and food to Hampton Roads' homeless population. Currently Mariah distributes items to those in need five nights a week, while studying for her degree at Regent University.
