Alex Askew was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After graduating from Tallwood High school in 2003, he went on to Hampton University earning himself a B.A in History in 2007.
After graduating from college, Alex spent time working in the Washington, D.C. area. He began his political career in 2012 working on the campaign to re-elect President Barack Obama, as a Field Organizer in Virginia Beach. From there Alex worked on the Presidential Inaugural committee in Washington, D.C., where Alex assisted with the planning of events surrounding the Inauguration of the President of the United States.
Alex then later went on to become the Regional Field Director in Berkeley and Dorchester County, South Carolina for Elizabeth Colbert Busch for Congress and have worked on other races including a gubernatorial race throughout the South Eastern United States.
